WIDOT created a “flex lane” on the Madison Beltline (USH 12/18) to relieve congestion of commuter traffic in both directions between I90/39 and Whitney Way. Our scope of work included the installation of a Freeway Traffic Management System (FTMS). The FTMS consists of Lane Control Signs and 5 Digital Message Signs, which will direct traffic flow to utilize the flex lanes.
